UB40's Ali, Astro & Mickey To Stop By Australia Next Year To Celebrate Their 40th Anniversary

Original members of legendary reggae band UB40—Ali Campbell, Mickey Virtue and Astro—are headed down under in February next year for a double celebration—one for the release of their 19th studio album 'A Real Labour Of Love' and another for their 40th year in the business. They will be holding a three-date fiesta kicking off at the Gold Coast's Nightquarter, then will head to Perth's Red Hill Auditorium. The final show will be at Clancy's Fish Pub in Dunsborough.

The Australian shows are scheduled in between the band's New Zealand dates which are happening at the Church Road Winery in Napier, Waitangi Sports Grounds, Trafalgar Park in Nelson and Hagley Park North in Christchurch.

The legendary band released ‘A Real Labour Of Love’ earlier this year. Dubbed as their most successful album in 25 years, the album reached #2 on the UK Album Chart and #1 on the Billboard Reggae Chart. It is also the band’s highest chart entry since 1993’s #1 'Promises and Lies'. It has also received 4-star reviews in the Daily Mail and Daily Star who said it “crackles with the energy of their classics.”

With 2019 marking 40 years since UB40 first performed live, the famed reggae band will be celebrating with a greatest hits set that features global smashes like ‘Red Red Wine’, ‘Cherry Oh Baby’, ‘Rat In Mi Kitchen’ and ‘Kingston Town’. Ali, Astro & Mickey will be joined on-stage by their incredible eight-piece reggae band.
