In a storytelling shitstorm, Dr. Richards blazes through the tale of Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson, two radio astronomers that were searching for silence. They instead found the Cosmic Microwave Background, relic radiation from the beginning of the universe, proving the Big Bang theory and ruffling the feathers of a family of pigeons in one fell swoop. Subsequently awarded the Nobel Prize for their misplaced efforts. A wonderful accident.
Dr. Thomas D. Richards will be rifling through the Archive Room at the Fringe Hub, in his debut solo show at this years Melbourne Fringe Festival. His extraterrestrial ambition is to “present stories from history and pop-science in an explosive and tempestuous manner.” Envision Carl Sagan’s ship of the imagination, fueled by kerosene, held together with second hand duct tape and sponsored by ACME.
Think Big. Yeah. Bigger than that.
