Jackie Bornstein brings her rich tones and top band to Paris Cat Jazz Club for a celebration of the great Billie Holiday. Exploring the life work of Lady Day, the Jackie Bornstein Quintet will perform songs of love, sorrow, joy and protest from Billie Holiday's iconic recordings.
The program includes classic Holiday signature songs 'What a Little Moonlight Can Do' and 'Strange Fruit', Holiday's own compositions including 'Don't Explain' and 'Stormy Blues', plus tunes from Holiday's discography composed by Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, Cole Porter.
Featuring the emotive vocals of Jackie Bornstein, world-class pianist Mark Fitzgibbon, esteemed bassist Philip Rex, drummer extraordinaire Danny Fischer and visiting from New York, award winning saxophonist Anton Delecca.

Jackie Bornstein is one of Melbourne's most captivating singers and is a regular at Melbourne's top jazz venues. She secured sold-out shows at her 2018 Melbourne Recital Centre debut and at the 2018 and 2017 Melbourne International Jazz Festival. Known for her rich tones and ability to get to the heart of a tune, Jackie brings a powerful energy to each performance. Trained classically as a child, Jackie went on to study jazz at the Victorian College of the Arts and completed a UK Masters scholarship on the role of music in resolving a conflict. She performs with a selection of Australia's finest musicians and enchants audiences with her emotive delivery and beautiful tone.
